The concerts are held on the plaza at 7 World Trade Center and free admission is on a first-come basis to the public, rain or shine.
Music Downtown is produced by Michael Dorf Presents, a boutique independent promoter and producer in New York presenting a variety of concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and throughout the city. Michael Dorf is the producer of Oyhoo Music Festival, Jewzapalooza, the "Music of..." benefit concerts saluting Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and Joni Mitchell - and many other events and festivals. He founded the Knitting Factory in 1987 and was the Chairman & CEO until 2002.
Not only will Music Downtown increase critically needed foot traffic to the area, but it will also help to plant new seeds for Lower Manhattan's economic and cultural growth. By developing programs such as Music Downtown, Wall Street Rising is helping to promote Lower Manhattan as a quality destination for cultural programming and advocating for a vibrant, mixed-use community.
